Wedding Dress

 Aaaand it's October!

Hello everybody :D. Just to clear things up between you and me, no, I am not getting married. Neither is this post about Taeyang (sorry Kpop fans). I can, however, include a little gif of smexy Taeyang for your benefit anyways:

asiandreamgif
I liked his song a lot. And the whole album was entertaining. But Wedding Dress was a very nice song indeed. And his dancing! Hwhoah. Wait. I've already said that this post wasn't about Taeyang. I digress.

Anyway, I happened to just be browsing the Inturnetz and stumbled upon some very pretty wedding photography sites. And I think it's a shame, how in Malaysia a lot of wedding photographers are still very generic and, well, 'old-fashioned', if I may dare say. Note I say some. I did see a few pretty amazing photographs by people like Jon Low, Edmund Tham and Anna-Rina Photography. But somehow, I get a feeling of distance, between the photographer and the client. Is it just me? In some photos from Malaysian photographers, I feel as if the bride/bridegroom is a bit too conscious of the photographer, or the fact that they are being photographed. The photos look a bit too staged and unnatural. And then there are some photographers that are creative, to the point you ask the question: 'is that even a wedding photograph?!'. I mean, seriously. Some photographs look like the bride is lounging with stacks of newspapers- very well done, but wth why would a bride pose with paper bundles on her wedding? And then another gorgeous photograph- that looks like a car ad. I focused on the Ford way before I realized the bride and groom were on the other side of the photograph. I'm not giving names, I'm just saying, some photographers need to toe the line so that the wedding photographs look and feel gorgeous, not confusing.

Okay. Maybe it's just me. Who knows.

Arrow&Apple
These gorgeous wedding photographs are so professional, and yet they still possess and certain personal appeal, as if the photographer had managed to capture a bit of the bride's charm in each photograph. And I like how the makeup is kept to a minimum. In Malaysia it seems to be a long-lasting tradition of inch-thick makeup despite the weather being scorching.

Another thing that caught my eye are the wedding dresses! Gone seem to be the days of long trains, miles of ivory lace and tulle. Short, flouncy numbers are doing the wedding march more often than not these days. Not that I'm complaining, haha. If I had to have a wedding, I'd love a gorjas knee-length dress with lots of poof and swish. So I can run around- in awesome HI-TOP SNEAKERS!!! 8D. Allow me to illustrate my ideal outfit. Lol.

(Note: Please remember, I am not getting married. I am just...fantasizing. Lol.)

It will be glittery, shimmery, and absolutely magical 8D.

A few other very dreamy dresses (for those of you who may just be planning a wedding and would like to beat the heat in a short summery number) :

favim
Don't you just love soft back lighting like this? It really enhances the soft fabric of the skirt.

ouma
Aha! Poofy-ness! Every fairy-princess-wedding girl's dream :D.

What kind of wedding do you dream of? The whole peacock-train, full veil and red roses kind? Or something completely wild and out of it, like a paintball party? Or how about a gold-and-white beach bikini theme? :D. Feel free to share your dreams, no matter how traditional or extraordinary.

It's time for me to take my leave. Thank you for your time. I shall leave you with another smexy Taeyang gif:

Have a nice day everybody :D.

Hiatus in Huts

It's the middle of September, and I'm busy how most students will be when they've been thrown a whole felony of assignments all due at around the same time and demanding the same amount attention for each.

I'm not even sure if felony is an appropriate word to use here, though my subconscious tells me it is a very wrong word to use. However because I felt like it on the spur of the moment, and because I've already typed it and am not bothered to go back and change it to something else, I shall leave it as it is.

Please excuse me momentarily as I go about tending to the businesses of reality. Will be back soon.

Here is a fairly bad photo of a mother cat and her kittens to distract you while I'm away. The cats are not mine. Their fur is unbelievably soft though. Imagine yourself giving them imaginary pats.

Now no more mention of Christmas until the day actually arrives. Wait, how did that even come into the picture? Never mind, just don't bring that topic up again.

*ArnoldSchwarzeevoice* I'll be back.

Just a random thingy I did the other week. I was bored and in the mood to draw something. It's weird, though. Back then I got all hyped up drawing and drawing without a care in the world. Whatever I wanted I just doodled down however I fancied. I didn't give a toss about things like composition and complimentary colours and linear weights and what-have-yous.
Of course, looking at it now there's good and bads to just drawing however you want. Of course you want to make it visually appealing, get the message across, evoke feelings and emotions from whoever is viewing it. For that to happen you need to follow some basic rules.
But then I remember when I was doodling and messing about with my markers and paper and pencils, I was happy. Very happy indeed. Of course there were certain little hiccups here and there, but I felt a genuine sense of accomplishment when I'd completed some drowned-in-colour thing. It was kinda like me, my ideas, paper and music. Nothing in between, nothing that can create some sort of distraction.
Right now when I look back at my old works, I can find fault in every single one of them. Of course, every creator will do so. But at the same time, I can't seem to find that blind, mindless drive to just doodle down everything and anything. I'll start to think about all the rules, and how to break them or bend them in different ways. Not like that's a bad thing, but of course you can see for yourself just how unproductive I've been since I started uni.
My theory is this: back when I was completely oblivious to the foundations of design and art, I was like some wild monkey with a pencil. I threw everything down without putting much thought into it. Could you say my artwork then was and is shallow? Most probably. Because there isn't a rationale or a reason for it. It exists because I wanted to create it. That's all. But now, with the metaphorical chains of knowledge, I know better than to just go gadding about. I suppose, with more hard work and effort I won't call the knowledge chains, and instead call them steps and ladders to creating more beautiful and meaningful artwork.
It's like the transition of child to adult. When the world was so innocent, and when you reach that certain age, you just look at the old things so, so differently.

Excuse me for the big big wall of text. That's enough rambles for one night I suppose.

No Shyt, Sherlock.

Disclaimer: I don't dislike KPop, neither to I have any animosity towards Shinee. Thank you for your understanding.

And, no, I don't plan on making this a KPop blog. I just like to rant, and when I rant, there are very little topics that I don't stray to.

Anyway, out of curiousity (wow!) I decided to watch Shinee's Sherlock MV and then I realized one of the many things I've realized about Shinee (sorry, did that confuse you?) : a lot of times I can't ever catch the tune of their songs. Except for the more popular ones like. Lucifer. And that Ring-a-ling one. And Hello. But seriously everything else just mushes together and I can't make anything out of it.

And then! It just amazes me! How entertainers nowadays just take inspiration from almost anything! Okay so that has been the case from when the Earth was still in its diapers and God was pregnant (ignore that, please), but still! The desire to be different is continuously evolving, and somehow these KPop bands are completely innovative when it comes to their methods of entertainment. Like this:

dailykpopnews
Like, wow! They hipsterfied Sherlock Holmes! What would Sir Arthur Conan Doyle have to say about this I wonder? I look at this with mixed feelings, honestly. I think it's, in a way, awesome that they can help spread awareness so kids will broaden their literary horizons and maybe feel compelled to pick up a copy of The Hound of The Baskervilles, instead of Twilight. On the other hand, I feel as if their take on the whole British-mystery thing is awfully shallow. But maybe it's just me. At least they're not wearing houndstooth and deerstalker hats, eh? =P Don't get me wrong. I think the oversized black frames and Doc Martens look very nice. Much better than the starry shorts that, I swear to God, popped out of nowhere just for the lulz.

koreansound
Yes, you heard me. Starry shorts. With the Doc Martens. Holy good God.

I like how Taemin looks just fabulously colourful and pretty. But then I am reminded he is a he and suddenly I feel all wrong in the stomach.

I don't know why, but I get all discriminative when people go about saying 'oh I like so-and-so' because  they've watched the movie or their idols made a song inspired by the book. But then they don't read the book. In fact, they are familiar with the name but are probably clueless to who or what Sherlock Holmes is. For all they know he's another KPop artiste that flips his conditioned locks and swings his narrow hips to a crowd of adoring fangirls. You see how discriminative I am. But, really. How many people have read the books. Huh? Huh? Go read them if you haven't. At least get a concrete idea of what is behind the Hollywood blockbusters...and under Taemin's black top hat.

Oh, and Taemin is not actually the only guy I can name from Shinee. I know that there is Jonghyun, Key, Minho, but unfortunately that other guy is lost to me. It could've been worse. When I first got to know about the boys I couldn't tell them apart even if you paid me a kimchi load of gold. And that was a very shallow thing to say.

I'm sorry for the nonsensical KPop rant. I shall return to more normal topics in the next post. Thank you for your time.

O.G.S

If you actually understood what the initials stood for, well, good for you.

Hello everyone and welcome to the beginning of the week-long Raya holidays! Here's to much celebrations and well-spent hours. No wasting time doing nothing, as I am about to do right now =P.

No, really, what's the entertainment industry doing these days. Has our mentality stooped so low, to the point that anything can be counted as remotely entertaining? Is a slightly tubby man prancing about pretending to ride a horse considered hilariously entertaining nowadays? Is everyone so bored that as long as someone is doing something weird and making it look good, it's going to be a major hit and start a new trend with rabid fans everywhere?

Imaginary iGallop via sassyjonghyun
You thought you've seen everything the internet has to offer, but you haven't.

I can't be the only one who watched this video and got a first impression that the rhythm is almost exactly like Big Bang's Fantastic Baby. Except that when Big Bang is singing about....well, whatever they were singing about, this PSY (I can't be the only person who thought it stood for something incredibly wrong) guy was singing about...Gangnam style. Which according to the explanation of my dear Korean friend Cheol is a district in Seoul, Korea where the wealthy and affluent live. It's kinda like the brothers rapping about 'da hood'....only this guy is in a suit and shades and prancing about on an apparently very energetic, very invisible pony. Of course, there's the crazily catchy beats, with the senseless tagline thrown in at all the appropriate intervals, with a snazzle of English words for good measure.

Oh, and then there's the poorly timed explosion. There must always be a scene where the main guy walks away from an explosion. Besides a scene of said main guy prancing on top of a building with a skyscraper in the background (refer to top). Yes, this...thing has all the ingredients to make it the next '...huh?' sensation.

via seoulsveil

Like it? Hate it? Each to his own I suppose. All I know is that there will be a new tune dominating the Raya medley for awhile.

I need to do something a bit more productive than this. Farewell everyone! And don't forget to play this song on full blast the next time you clamber onto your iGallop. At least you'll look a lot more sensible than this man.

Silver Bell

Let's all face it now, folks. I'm about as consistent as a yoyo dangling on a rotten branch in the middle of a tornado. One moment I can be flinging three posts (daily) out into the wide open, the next moment you'd have thought I died, but then somehow a meagre excuse of a post pops out to remind you that I'm not. It's life, it has its ups and downs, and it's most probably not going to change unless I get paid for it. Because, seriously. Who reads all this anyway except myself? =P.

Anyway, it may be the middle of the year, but I went ahead and watched the Polar Express. Haha. Good storyline, but I feel as if there were a tad too many high-speed, out-of-control-whizzing scenes. Got a bit boring after awhile. And the dialogue was a bit unnatural, and bursting into a sudden song at completely random intervals is not really a good idea when the movie isn't even a musical-like production like most Disney movies. Most of the time I'm just thinking 'dafuq are they singing for?'

The idea is good though. That the musical jingle of the sleigh bells can only be heard by the true believers. I thought everyone could, but I guess you must be part of Santa Claus'...cause in order to hear it (that was an epic fail attempt at a pun, sorry). Moving on. I think people who genuinely embrace the spirit of Christmas, and believe in all its good cheer and tidings would be able to hear it. Do you think you could be one of the blessed few? One of the seasonal souls that can hear the gentle tinkle of Santa's sleigh?

Glogster

I don't think I could. If I could it'd be drowned by the sound of my own heart breaking.

10.6.12

Sunny Sun Sun!

It's Sunday everybody! I can't remember the last time I had an incredibly lazy Sunday, when I could wake up at 12 and look forward to doing absolutely nothing XD. I can't say I'm liking it too much, though. Can you believe the ironies of human nature. When we are busy as crap we wish to heaven we had time to breathe and chill. Now that our wish is granted, we mould and potate and wish for something interesting to do.

This is exactly when Buddha's teaching comes in handy. The middle path. Equal amounts of activity and rest is best. Not too much nor too little of either. Amitabbha.

Anyway, the onslaught of blog posts will probably have to wait a lil' while, not because I am busy or anything. Rather I am too free to get in the mood to write a blog post, haha. Also I am without a camera right now, so I can't take all the pretty pikchas that I wish to take.

Anyway, more to come! Here's gif for ya:

Bwargh

I've been so unproductive this week D=.

I feel so emo right now. Lol. Not kill-myself-emo, but just moody emo. I don't know why. Maybe I slept too long. It's a rare moment to be emo and yet have no reason why. Maybe it's the fact that I've been so unproductive. Or maybe I've just strayed from my determined path to glory. Or maybe....maybe it's Maybelline.

LOL.

Polyvore

Blaargh. I don't know what's wrong anymore.

On the plus side, I had a super yummy Indian lunch today with Shamiel and Esmond! Was happily bloat after that. Esmond and I split another order of mutton biryani and potato naan, with an additional cheese naan. Shamiel had a chicken tandoori set. The chicken was deliciously succulent. It's so hard to come by decent tandoori; quite a lot I've had in the past were awfully dry and tough. The biryani and potato naan was just as delicious, though the cheese naan was quite boring and plain. We also had a lime and mint drink. It came in a glorious emerald green colour and was a very refreshing accompaniment to the spices.

The restaurant is called Indian Kitchen by the way! The only reason why there're no photos as promised is because my sister took my compact to the magical realm of Sabah and we were in a bit of a hurry to get back in time for the men's (note how I didn't say boys =P) afternoon class so I couldn't fuss about with DeeDee. Oh well. That's another promise for a return!

I guess I did sleep too long. Bleh. Well, there are happy phases, and then there're not so happy phases. I guess this is just one of the latter.

Enough staring at fuzzy Pattinson. Here's a Totoro for you!

Wow, Fantastic Baby.

Odd KPop post. I don't even know why I'm doing this, lol. You've been warned.

Fantastic Baby! Wow. Haha. I watched the mv on Luke's iPhone then I went and downloaded the song (arrrr...) and then I realized that THIS was the song I kept seeing on my timeline, in the form of Boom Shakalaka's and OMG-TOP-IS-SO-HAWT-*SQUEEEEEE*

.____.

I still crack up every time I watch the video clip. Mr G-Dragon is half techno-Rapunzel, TOP's blue hair reminds me of the blue bits I see in my soap powder ("T-O-P: TOOOOP!!!!" Sorry, couldn't help myself. I do it every time someone says TOP XD), Taeyang looks like my scrubbing brush, and I never knew the other two doods existed.

...Yeah, I guess that's about how big a fan I am of Kpop. Haha.

Don't get me wrong! I'm not dissing Big Bang or anything. I actually listen to a bunch of their albums, and I actually like some of their songs. This Fantastic Baby song was awfully catchy too! Before you know it you're shaking your ass to it and trying to say 'Boom Shakalaka' with as straight a face as TOP did.

It gets to me. Seriously. Who says Boom Shakalaka with a straight face? Who? WHO? I can't get it out of my head @_@

the prophet blog
Here. This is the culprit, bloo hair and all.
AND THEN RIGHT! I realized one of the doods I never knew existed sported an industrial piercing. Whaddaheck. Why didn't I just go ahead and do it and not tell my parents? Now if I do go ahead and do it and not tell my parents, I'll have Kpop fans saying 'omg, you copied Seungri!!!' I should just go gangsta and get a cage instead. Though I believe my ear would pop out if I do, lol.

anal bleach
Yes, I went and Googled his name for my and your benefit. Google is nice that way.

Anyways that's enough for one night. Haha. Off I go.

Falalala

I wanna dance in a field of flowers and be freeeee~~~

Hello everybody, how's the weekend treating you so far? I've never quite felt so unmotivated, lol. SO many things to do, and yet I can seem to summon the powers to get them done. Teh force is weak in this one, lol. But I'll whack my lazy ass up and running right after this. Pinky promise.

One more week to the semester break! My goodness, it's already been half a semester .___. What's up with the world yo? Quit revolving so quickly and slow teh shit down. Lol.
I need to stop going gangsta on the babble. Apologies.

Holy shit 10 more days to Avenged Sevenfold's concert and I'm still ticketless! Oh noes! Will they still be on sale I wonder? Sure hope everything works out. It's gonna suck balls when I'm all geared up to be sweaty and screaming with hundreds of other fans in a confined space, lol.

I shall refrain mentioning that I want to go shopping. Though I still do, and the list of places is growing slowly but surely. Oh noes I've went and mentioned it. There you go =P.

Oh, oh, good news! I've been working on my bloggy and I'm proud to announce the buttons have been created, tested, and confirmed to be working fine 8D. I found a bunch of very helpful tutorials that aided the html n00b in me. Besides that, I have also prepared the lineart for the blog header AND the sidebar headers. Boo yeah 8D. I haven't quite decided on the background yet, but it'll probably be a nice plain white. Or something. I'll figure that out once I've completed the header and whatnot =D.

There, ramble done. Now for a little nap before I get industrious XD.

Awkward

Awkward is the moment when you are walking up the stairs and you see a blank wall in front of you and you resist the urge to run right into it.

Yeah, it's that time of the mind again.

9.7.11

O^O

Omg omg omg Copic Colour has this awesome feature that allows you to show which markers you have and which you want O___O.

I'm so loving this site, lol. It's Copic-licious in all the right ways XD.

Anyone actually had hands on experience at the rally today? Esmond and I were giving in to some imagining about how it'd have really good photography and journalling opportunities. As long as we don't get hit on the head by a tear gas canister or take a water cannon blast in the face of the Canons, lol. Get it get it? XD.

Owhkay, fine, lame joke =___=. Moving on.

I bet the souls of our nation's previous leaders are greviously at un-rest right now. Seeing at how atrociously disgusting the authorities are behaving. I thought it was a citizen's right to rally and demand for their needs and wants? So much for being all about the rakyat and shyt. Back then when our forefathers were striving for Independence they rallied and discussed and demonstrated- you don't see them firing up the tear gas and water cannons. Or maybe twas because they didn't have that kind of stuff back then. Haha.

Speaking seriously though, what is it all about when the younger generation are taught in History classes all their high school lives about how our Independence was won through peaceful discussion and diplomatic reasoning- and that we should all be taking a leaf out of our past leaders' books? If you're going to drill that into the heads of the students, then the least those a-holes up there could do is actually practice what they're throwing out there to preach. For some old farts with more money than they actually deserve, they sure act like a bunch of kids fresh out of juvenile prison.

Yeah, expect the ISA to cart me off soon enough.

Anyways, I'm going to put this shyt aside for now and try to do something more worth my while. Like. Playing with my markers and zoning out. Lol. Farewell.

6.4.11

8D

Man, I haven't been up this early since high school XD. Oh wait, last time I was up this early was for that purply wedding I went to last year. Haha.

Okay, okay, so I haven't slept at all. I think it's a bit too early into my tertiary education to be pulling all nighters. If this continues my liver will burn into a little baby crisp and I'll die a painful, heated, liverless death XD.

Hahahaha, I have no idea why I feel so alert. It's not as if I'm not tired, I am. If I were to put my head on a pillow (or even the table in front of me, for that matter), I'd snooze my way to dreamland and probably never wake up. Oddly enough, I just feel a slight fuzziness at the back of my head, rather tired eyes and the urge to poop XDDD.

Dear God, semester two literally WHIZZED past, didn't it? I can still remember the beginnings of it. Heck, I can still remember the day of first sem when I was lost and met Clara for the first time in front of the Bursary. I wish I had a camera to capture that moment. It'd have made an awfully nostalgic photo to look back at when we graduate. But now there're only...3 more days? Less than 3 days left of sem 2 and here I am, typing away and a not-so-emo-blog-post-compared-to-the-other-emo-posts-before-this-one and I've had a whole night without sleep behind me. And it's about time for me to prepare myself to go to campus to do my group final presentation =D.

Shocking, I know. But that's the truth so oh well, let's face it happeh.

It was awesome though. The whole experience. So much things I've learnt. All the uber uber uber fun times and laughter and manic screaming and profanity and over-exploitation of brain cells and arguing and more screaming and more laughing and rude jokes and laughing and....yeah. You get the point, hahaha. Trust me, I've learnt SO much more than I thought possible working with 4 crazily happy guys XD. Oh am I going to miss working with them. Only dear Akito up there will know how much, haha. I wonder how it'd be like next semester. Will I return to the girly side of the classroom and it's the Fantastic Four guys again? Haha. Only time will tell. No one should try speculating the future. It spoils all the fun. Looking back now all I can do is laugh and giggle at the memories. Happy memories, they are.

Guys, thank you so much for making semester 2 in LUCT such an awesome one for me. It was probably difficult as hell to work with someone as stubborn, demanding, and completely inconsistent as me, but I hope you know just how grateful I am for you putting up with me. You guys are gawd-AWESOME and I hope I will have the pleasure of working with all of you in the future.

Hah, blogging has done exactly what I hope it would. Calm me down and center myself, so that I can focus on the day's excitement without having to worry about falling asleep on my feet instead of thinking on my feet. Let's go, guys! The Awesome Group! 8D

....I wonder if there's time for a snooze in the library? XD

27.3.11

Whooo

Random update~

Omg, one more week till end of semester!!! Not like it makes any difference; there'll only be less than a week of happy days before we become even happier (cough) when we return to campus for sem 3. Beh. What should I do with such limited time? Travel the world? Lose weight by gaming nonstop? Sleep and never wake up?

I should go earn some money, lol.

Gosh, I have never been so broke as I have been this week. I have...less than 20 bucks to see me through to the end of the month. Not sure what I've been spending on actually.Food. Transport. Materials (though how you can spend money on a project that requires construction out of recyclable items that you pick up from the side of the road I have no idea- oh wait, I believe my team and I have just proven that you can. Haha).

I haven't actually been spending much time in my room these days too. Been too caught up with this project I'm actually starting to dream about it XD. Also due to certain individuals that just irritate the effing hell outta me by acting as if they own the entire world and can therefore waltz into every house and room they see, I have been actually avoiding returning to my place. Yes, yes. Wtf is my problem right. If I knew I'd have killed said individual earlier, lol. Kidding.

I don't really know what I want to do anymore, really. Is it normal to feel okay with feeling so happily lost?

I see the sky outside the window. I'm surprised at how clear and blue it looks today.

18.3.11

Bah

Yeah, I know, I know, I haven't been blogging. I haven't been journalling. Heck sem 2 is almost gone and almost nothing about it was recorded. What the fuck. I'm angry at myself, because I know that one day I'll be looking back on this, trying to fish cherished memories from murky waters, only to realize that I can't seem to find them. Fuck it.

Well, final project (yes it's been that long) is in full swing; two more weeks to go to final presentation. My group and I are getting along pretty well, but I'm hoping like hell that I can make it to the...event that I want to go to on the 2nd of April. I joined a Campap competition last year and I am shortlisted as a winner and have to attend the award ceremony. There will also be a 2 day exhibition in Times Square Penang (fuck yes, it's in Penang. I've no idea how I plan to make my way there. Probably fashion myself a pair of wings out of all the recyclable materials we've been collecting for our final project and flap myself across DX), that and 365/366 artworks will be compiled into a book. Yes, it's a big thing. I wasn't actually aware that it was such a big thing when I first joined. Oh well. Anyway, yeah, the only thing stopping me from going is the wonderful fact that my final project presentation is on the 4th of April. Big big big wtf. The whole semester has been a continuous series of big wtf moments, apparently. Let's see how the great Joanne shall pull this one off, haha.

What else is up? Temperatures, tempers, testosterone. Lol. I think I've been hanging around guys too much these days. I'm going to end up being one of the guys soon, if I haven't been included before that is =P. But it's so much more fun working with people that you can joke and mess around with. Though of course there were the multiple moments when I wish I could just throw random things about (and do- only to hit faces and send glasses flying XD), but all in all it's an awesome experience to work with great people with VERY different ideas.

It's tiring though. This whole semester has been. In fact, at the height of all this excitement, I have to say that this final project moment is a lot more relaxed compared to the beginning of semester. I have time to actually sit down and contemplate the direction I'm heading to, even if I'm not sleeping as much as I wish I could.

We actually have a lot more time to go around and have fun. Just yesterday I went off to the Community club to watch my classmates + one lecturer play futsal. It was highly entertaining, rest assured. After that the whole bunch of us + housemates went to the longest pasar malam somewhere in Cheras (16 of us, imagine that). Then after that we all went to Cyber for tea and chat at 12am. Tiring, considering that I ended up only sleeping at 3, but completely worth it. Today (or is it yesterday? It's been today for almost half and hour now, haha) my group members and I went to Putrajaya in hopes of being able to see some hot air balloons. Ran out of luck though. We did see some awesome giant hamster balls but we didn't play because not all of us were keen on it (I for one wasn't into their idea of them bashing me with transparent balls of gigantic proportions).

There are so so so many events I wish I'd recorded, but I haven't and now the memories of them are already beginning to fade. I'm not in the right mind to search for them now. No. I don't actually want to think now. Because when I do I'll only think of what ifs and oh nos and why nots. I don't want to do this. I don't want to ruin something that's going on okay all the while. I'm afraid of jumping into the unknown; I'm afraid of not being prepared.

This is stupid. It wasn't supposed to turn into an emo post right at the very end. What the hell.

17.2.11

Tired Rant

Nah, not really tired. No time to be tired really; it's one thing after another, even if I was tired I would have to make sure I wasn't or I wouldn't ever get anywhere with assignments.

Dear God, university life has disappointed me greatly.

I'm not going to go *screamscreamscreamflipmiddlefingerup* because I'd like to believe that there is rational reason for the chaos of all this. But that won't stop me from thinking that this is NOT the best studying environment to be in. I mean, we hardly have any time to complete one assignment when the next one comes right in, and then all of them are due the same week. I think a lot of my fellow coursemates would agree that a little more time to breathe would be great. The assignment at hand demand so much from us; and I think all of us would like to give our very best and achieve near-perfection.

But, seriously, with the amount of time we get for most of the assignments, it's superbly taxing trying to do just that.

I know that university life is not the same as high-school. Of course we do not expect to be spoon-fed every little thing. But it's stupid when the lecturers throw every bit of information they are paid to throw at us and leave us at that. So that they expect one lesson we'll be able to grasp and execute perfection.

We are all here for similar reasons. We love creating, we love creativity, we love challenges and thinking out of the box. But to force us to think in the least time possible will do nothing but hamper the creative learning process. There is only so much we can absorb in one moment; not all of us are Da Vincis.

Thinking optimistically, working against the clock is good training for when we enter the industry and have to face the panic of deadlines, but really, COME ON. At the end of the day we are still students. We're here to learn the ropes and learn them well. Instead we hate our assignments more and more as the days pass and when that happens, we end up doing our assignments just to get it over and done with and not by enjoying and learning something from it.

What kind of a learning process is this? And what will we turn out to be in the future? If this continues, I think most of us would graduate (if we ever make it that far) as individuals who stop enjoying the journey and just want to reach the end. And that'll be as far as our creativity will go, believe you me.

And though idea development is a very important step to creating artwork (or anything for that matter), it is really quite ridiculous to be expected to produce 10-20 different ideas revolving around one core point. I think even the lecturers would realize that out of all the 10-20, not more than 5 would be considered good ideas and the rest would be just shitty reproductions. No doubt this development would make us think of different approaches towards a single problem. But as the saying goes: QUALITY OVER QUANTITY.

Perhaps I'm contradicting myself, perhaps people with more experience would simply think I'm a whiner. Then I would like to remind you that once, you too were a student. You had (and hopefully still have) zeal and passion and energy. I'm sure you'd once felt disheartened and frustrated when you are forced to do something just for the sake of it and not being able to enjoy it as you wish.

Unless you want most of us to go around moaning to our friends about our crap time here, I think the higher authorities should do something about returning the creativity and FUN to learning. After all, life isn't about the final destination, it's about the journey towards it.

Tell me if I'm contradicting myself, please.

;___;

This place is as good as dead, isn't it?

I'm sorry I didn't put any effort in blogging. Gah, screw that; I haven't put any effort in writing in my journal either, and that is at least a hundred times more important.

It's not a good thing, not at all. I suppose to other people they'll just think 'so what? It's not your fault your life is busy as hell. Anyway, it's just blogging/writing. No one's going to want to read it anyway' etc etc.

It's not that way for me. Not at all.

I can't find it in myself to scream and let whatever I feel out however I fancy. Sometimes I find it hard to show others my real feelings (doesn't everyone?). I try not to show my bad side because it can look very, very ugly and hell, I'm not in most people's list of Good Lasting Impressions and I don't want to drop any further down. So I tend to keep stuff inside. Hence the rapid growth of white hairs on my head and the odd pain I get in my chest that sure as hell does not tickle when you prod it =_=.

Writing helps me in ways I think most writers would agree to. It keeps things in perspective. Writing it down makes me see the picture for what it really is, because even if I wanted to blow things out of proportion, I'd have to look at the real thing first, and that would make me think twice before actually being a drama queen. It keeps the memory down, right down in hard black and white. So that when I turn back the pages after a while, I read and think 'oh, right, this happened'. It refreshes my disintegrating mind. And it reminds me. It reminds me of what I am, what I'm here for, what I am trying to be. It aligns my fears, my goals, my ups, my downs so that I can see every single detail in chronological order and put a mark at where I stand, and where I will be standing when I continue through the journey most of us call life.

It's simple, really. Writing keeps me sane. And the less I write, the further I feel from myself and what I really am.

Laziness is the essence of all evil, and for that I shall strive to overcome my vice and remind myself that Joanne Loo, you can do much, MUCH better than this.

Uhm

Hello.

How's life you ask? Hm, it's fancy. I've been doing/done quite a lot of what I've wanted to do. I've gained sufficient knowledge to not get lost in KL city, I've eaten (still am- expect to see me as a round tub soon) most of the food on the food-I-missed-and-want-to-eat-again list and going steadily down it, my room's a mess with the stuff I brought back from KL, I'm downloading the world into Ronald...

...and still I'm not satisfied.

No, I lie. I'm actually pretty contented. But. I've got nagging thoughts. I feel as if I've gone through sandpaper; pieces of me flaking away and disappearing forever, so that I can only look back but never have again. Is that what new experiences do to you, I wonder? Does it give you new knowledge but take away old parts of you, parts you never really knew you had until you realized you were missing -something-?

Ouch. Ronald's giving me electric shocks. Apparently this is a normal thing with Macs, because the magnetic charger is not earthed. So I can be going 'type type type' then 'OWWWW Ronald what'd you do THAT for?! D='.

Sorry, that was a lame attempt to change the topic.

This isn't suppose to be like this. I'm not suppose to leave for three months and come back feeling at least 10 years older. Perhaps being thrown into a completely new situation where you have to fend entirely for yourself teaches you things. Much as you don't want to. It's not as if it was a period of torture and pain and loneliness. If it had been I might have at least a reason to be pissed off and tearing my hair screaming. But it was the complete opposite. I had so much fun three months felt like three seconds. One moment I was planning my day-to-day life, doing my assignments, stalking (*cough*) random people, making new friends, learning new things; next moment boom. I suddenly feel as if I've warped into a completely weird asshole with no aim in life.

Maybe that's what holidays do to you. The lack of activity in a once activity filled life to the point that there weren't enough hours in a day to do them all makes your brain go 'wha...?' then go blank from shock. Yeah, I can just imagine my brain going '!!!!' then popping off black. Haha.

It's that or I just need to catch up on my sleep.

Yeah. I need sleep.

Running out of fancy titles

Yeah, I guess it has to happen sometime when you've blogged too long D=.

Gosh, I'm missing the high-speed connection back home. During the weekend I downloaded everything and anything I could get my hands on, just for the sake of watching the minutes turn to seconds and the download bar going 'fhweee~ee~ee~~~'. Over here any attempt to download will leave you waiting for at least 2 hours and even then the bar ain't moving =_=.

I'm in love with Sekaiichi Hatsukoi!!! I think in some aspects it is better than JR, because at least it has some knowledgeable...knowledge? (lol) to procur. Like the sneak peak into what goes on in the publishing world. Though I think it isn't as racy as JR, perhaps it's too early in the day to say so? (literally, haha).

Yeah, I'm crapping. Aren't I always? XD.

Drawing with grid is FUN~!! No, seriously. It's challenging, it makes you look stupid when you have to use a calculator to get measurements for the squares (only to realize they'd turned into rectangles), you'll probably wish you were dead when you've just begun, but it's FUN~! I mean, it's like a puzzle where you connect the stuff in one square to the other and when you see it all come together you can't help but go 8DDD.

Not sure when I can ever finish this A2 one though. Next semester, probably. Lol.

I wanna sleep but can't seem to be able to. My brain is on alert. Like really sparkly lights and elevator music going 'do-de-do-de-do~~' round and round. Oh, oh, speaking of sparkly lights...

Oh my gawd I hurt my own eyes X.X

The wedding I went to for the weekend was TIRING but so fun. I can't believe it, I actually spent an entire day in dresses. Big wtf, lol. I looked as if I were cosplaying the Wonder Girls at night, and ironically enough the main theme song seemed to be 'Nobody' XD. At one point everyone, young and old, serious and wacky, were shaking their butts and clapping their hands to the beats XD. I wonder whose wedding will be next and what the next song will be. Haha.

Oh oh, one thing I know, though. Next time my wedding's morning reception shall be at 12. PM. Lol.

Bye bye~~~ *elevator goes down*

Buuu~

What's happening back in Melaka, eh? What's the public holiday for? How come Selangor doesn't get the day off too? =_=.

Anyway, yeah. Hello hello =D. Random ramble-update time! I made friends with some awesome PC gamers lately. Man do I feel like the noob of all noobs XD. But they've kindly undertaken to make me not-so noobish (or rather I made them undertake me- I'm absolutely shameless when it comes to finding games. PC gamers of LUCT, if you see me coming your way you better run the opposite direction- or hand up them games ;D). Hence, Goo-ni now houses Chaos Legion, Resident Evil 5, DMC3 & 4, Splinter Cell Conviction, Prototype and Ninja Blade. Bwahaha. Ironically, though I've gotten (most) of the games I wanted, I haven't the time to do anything more than try them out to see if they were working. Haha. I've got two major assignments going along in full swing- both due week 14 aka very very VERY soon D=. I'm screwed beyond measure. Lol. And this is only the first sem; can't imagine how I'll fare in later semesters, haha.

Oh, and for anyone who'd wish to be interested, I've got a new story up over at my other blog! Go check it out if you like =). I'm sorry for the complete inconsistency- my imagination works at odd spasms at a rate of a few-months interval, lol. And somehow I feel as if my stories are no good; they seem to be too wordy and long-winded. It's more difficult than it seems- trying to find the right words to express the feelings and induce the mood. Sometimes even my Thesaurus fails me T.T. Oh well. Practice, Joanne! Practice is all you need to make your writing $k!lLz aweshum. Haha.

Short post today. Still in love with the two albums I downloaded recently. Karma is still <3 <3 <3. Goodbye for now~
