Hm

Well, today was certainly a very enjoyable day =D.

Went out to meet dear old Lavi who came back from a place with quite a lot of sand. Haha. I came a good half hour late due to tragic unforseen circumstances, but...uhm. Better late than never, right? XD.

We had lunch over at US Pizza in DP. The pizzas tasted really nice, surprisingly enough. Haha.
(Excuse me for not being able to blog properly. Slightly woozy after beer in sister's bf's 21st birthday bash)

Uhm, I think I'll just do some random narrating as we go along. Yeah.

So...that's us! Except me, that is. Lol.

Us with me inside 8D

Seme lolling round, Lavi and I

Wonky heart <3

Three stooges XD

Uhm...five stooges? Lol

The other three stooges on the other side of the table

Ravee + Lavi= Uh...Ravi? LOL

After lunch it was decided that we should go to the purikura thing and camwhore...and so we did. There was lots of screaming, laughing, camwhoring, booth-and-booty shaking, and the seme's butt and Fera were greatly exploited.

Then at night went to the aforemention sister's bf's 21st birthday bash. It was a twee bit embarassing, but I had lots of fun. Buffeted till I nearly burst XD. Not my fault the food (and booze) was too good. Lol.

Apologies for the rather retardedly made post. I need sleep.

P.S: TWINNY YOU STUPID OLD NINCOMPOOP!!! YOU BETTER SHOW YOUR FACE AT THE NEXT GATHERING OR WE'RE SEVERING TWINNY TIES!!!!!! >:O

Spherical Profoundness, Majestical Parade

Hello again :D.

Went on a mini-downloading spree earlier this month. A buncha singles came out on the 5th of August (Alice Nine- Hana, Girugamesh- Border, and Deluhi- Two Hurt). Not sure what so special about the date, but it seems too much of a coincidence that all these Jrockers throw their singles into the market all together. Perhaps it's competition to get the highest spot in the Oricon charts or something. Whatever.

And so we have here Nightmare's latest album, Majestical Parade! I love the album title, as well as the cover art. The songs inside are just as nice. I actually like this album a lot better than their previous album, Killer Show. The latter had slightly under-beat-ish songs that had nice electric guitars, but then it goes flop at the chorus. But in Majestical Parade, the songs are more consistent in their rocky-ness, with the strong Nightmare signature style throughout. The first track, entitled Parade, instantly catches your attention with the military-parade drumbeats, followed by the electric guitars imitating the beats. The rest of the tracks don't quite follow the whole parade facade, but they have very nice melodies. I particularly like Nothing you lose, Cynical Re:actor, and Simple Life, the latter being a lighter, slower track with a very interesting rhythm.

Next up, we have MUCC! Pronounced as muccu, due to the fact that the band was named after some cartoon character (and that 69 can be pronounced muku in Japanese). I downloaded their latest album Kyuutai just for the heck of it. And I must say they are really quite nice. I honestly think that their style is very Girugamesh, but the vocalist has a much lower voice. And he screams less. In this album, that is. I don't know how much he's screamed in the past. Haha. So, yes. It takes quite a while to get used to their songs, because they have unordinary melodies. But they're okay once you get used to them. Haha. I like Houkou, Ageha and Oz. If you're a Jrock fan that enjoys slightly out of the ordinary songs with the typical Jrock-rockyness, MUCC should go well with you. And it might interest you that one of their songs, FUZZ, appeared in the movie Cloverfield. Wow whee.

The other singles I downloaded were pretty awesome!! I'm abosultely in love with Alice Nine's Hana single. All three tracks are really wonderful. Quite unique if compared to their previous singles, I think they were experimenting with new styles. Whatever it was, they certainly made a hit with me. Hana is a dance-rock song you can shake your booty to (XD), and so is High and Low, with a very techno-dance-ish beat reinforced with the super-awesomeness of Hiroto and Tora's guitars and Saga's sexy bass. But I think out of the three tracks of the single, SLEEPWALKER has got to be my absolute favourite. It's goddamn fantastic XD. I just love the electric guitar. And the video clip's pretty hot as well, though it did feature Shou in a fedora a bit too much (then again vocalists ALWAYS get centre stage, right?). Tora-chan looked hot as usual =D. He seriously stands out from the rest because of his black can't-touch-this aura. Whooo~~ XD. Saga was wearing shades and black gloves and at one point I expected him to start licking his bass. He didn't, unfortunately. Oh well. Girugamesh's Border single is Girugamesh being Girugamesh XD. They have their super-rock-turntable style going full swing, which is never a bad thing. I like the way Satoshi's voice holds the melody of the song, yet has a growl-ish undertone to it, almost as if he were prepared to start screaming at any moment (which most of the time is usually the case). Deluhi's single is a remake to a previous track, if I'm not wrong. They're a fairly new band, but they already have a very interesting array of catchy Jrock tunes. I really like Hybrid Truth, Freedom and Two Hurt from their previously released singles.

Oh, I also downloaded Gackt's new single. The Next Decade. The electric guitar's awesome. But I didn't really like the song overall. Releasing four singles one after another within a week of one another must've exhausted his creative urges. Oh well.

That shall conclude my happy music-related rants and rambles. Tune in for next post, everyone.

Gaze up at the Red Crescent~

Today was the BSMM Annual General Meeting =D.

It was entertaining enough. Committee members, old and new along with some helpful normal members helped out beforehand to arrange chairs and set up mic (a couple of Form 2s promptly began to spout random gibberish into the mic and giggled away, resulting in me removing the mic from the wire and putting it into my pocket). Brought camera (illegally- ohohohoho~~~) and took a couple of pics. The rest were taken by Tian Hua while I emceed.

Happy viewing :).

....Oh crap I forgot to upload the pics of the prizewinners. Oh well. It's not as if they were the real winners anyway XD.
And so comes the end of another year for BSMM SMKIJC. It was fun working and playing with all of you people ^^. New committees- good luck and have fun in the year 2010! May you continue to bring fame and fortune (no seriously- don't make BSMM rugi at the next Hari Q jualan dangit ><) to BSMM! Also, I hope that all of you will work well with each other. Acceptance, tolerance, and cooperation in the key to making all the (hopefully) crazy activities a success! =D.

Okay, with that done and over with, I can now move on to the next item on my personal agenda. Next post, folks.

BANG BANG

Bangers and mash with onion gravy~

Having absolutely nothing to do in class today, I flipped through Leah's copy of yesterday's Star- and came across a page of food recipes. They looked easy enough, so I brought the pages home to try them out. I tried out bangers and mash with onion gravy (picture above) for dinner today XD. Yeah, yeah, most of you will be wondering what the heck is a banger. It's just a fancy British slang for sausage. The dish itself is a rather popular meal served in pubs in England, if I'm not mistaken. Anyways, it's really yummy XD. And yes, it's actually edible. Told you I can cook edible food without burning down the kitchen. The dish techinacally consists of sausages, mash potatoes, and a brown gravy made out of onions, stock and red wine. I messed the wine part up- the recipe needed dry red but I didn't happen to have any around the house. My dad opened a bottle of regular red wine specially, and the result is pretty nice, if I must say so myself. It was pretty easy to make, really. Nothing too fanciful. Fry sausages lightly, followed by onions, rest of gravy ingredients, then pour the lot into a baking dish and into the oven. The mash was simple enough- boil potatoes till soft then mash with butter. Yum. Though I think I did put a bit too much stock, it still tasted great =D. And the mashed potatoes were just the right consistency too! Not too dry and lumpy, and yet not overly smooth and watery. Just a nice silky, soft lump of yummeh potato XD.

Uhm, the bread's all fake. Just in case you were wondering.

Waaaa!!! One Academy's design competition was brought forward to the 22nd August aka next Saturday!!! No wai!!!!! DX DX DX. My head's all blank. I think that should be the best way to enter a competition. Blank and as empty as a flowerpot. So that I can just throw in all I've got without any restraints when the time comes....right? @.@.

I'm so so sorry, twinny. I can't make it to your housewarming ;___;. And I so wanted to go ke-po in your house too XD.

I shall leave for now. Till next time, folks.

I'm going to try baking the Parisian Apple Tartlet next =D.

Boohoo

The tropical fishies are out to get me, I swear DX.

Grabbed my art project back today. Have to correct a couple of (rather large) mistakes, and I'm still cracking my head and killing off whatever's left of me brain cells trying to come up with a way to fix it. Gah.

So, this post is simply to tell all the wonderful readers of the blog that I -might- not be updating as regularly as I did in the previous month (seeing as this is Joanne we're talking about, you should've been prepared for extreme irregularities =P). Reason being I'll be super busy trying to study for trials and doing a whole lot of other stuff, and also I'm trying to hold off going online close to everyday (daily Internet-addicts, perhaps you should do the same and start studying. You know who you are.) So...yeah. You'll see me once in a while. Hopefully. Oh come on, it's not as if reading my blog's so entertaining. It only seems to entertain myself. Haha. Go look for something else more important to do while waiting for me to get over this phase of my boring, monotonous life.

Okies, off I go for now. Hope to see you all soon~~~!!! <3

UP UP AND AWAAAAYYY~~~~

Ladies and gentlemen,

OMG I MADE IT TO THE ONE ACADEMY DESIGN COMPETITION FINALS!!!!!!

YAAAY!!! 8D 8D 8D

I honestly thought I wouldn't make it. Haha. When I saw Yeok Ho today and she asked if I made it to the finals and I hadn't received any notices, I figured I didn't make it. So I was like, okay, forget it. It doesn't matter, so long I actually gave it a shot.

Then I went to sleep in the afternoon (so this berwawasan thing actually does work!!! XD XD XD) and my sister found the envelope in the mailbox and put it beside my pillow for when I woke up. And when I did, I peered at the envelope and thought "huh? What the heck is this?". And then it dawned on me. The shocking truth. I actually made it in.

Thanks mum, for believing that I could make it even when I doubted myself =D.

However, I'm kinda whacked out over the idea of going for a drawing competition, because the only one I've ever been to would be at GACC's, and what with my future at stake, the pressure's on.

That and the fact that the SPM trials' four days after. Good lord.

And I don't do too well in competition environments. Not when there're 1001 other more fantastic artists to go up against. But what the heck. I'll just give it my best shot. Even if I didn't make it, well. No biggie. I've got backup plans to still get the funds to go to college. Like sell the seme to Vietnam where she'll be worth quite a bit. LOL.

To everybodeh out there, pray that I don't screw up big time and dissappoint myself and all my family and friends. Pray that I don't have to end up selling the seme to get munnehs for my tertiary education. Haha.

Okies, dinner time. Yay! Food~~~ *drools happily*

Freedom, For Freedom

[FREE]

First post of August!!! 8D

Okay, so I've been blogging about my boring life far more than I thought possible. Go me! XD. I shall give a theme to the month of August, not in conjunction with the independence month on purpose, but that too =D. The theme of August shall be [FREE]. Study hard for exams, but be free of stress, be around family and friends, but be free of negative criticism and peer pressure. Go out and celebrate who I am, but be free of H1N1 infection. Let the love flow, and yet be free of the doubt and fear that come with it. Say whatever the hell I want, but be free of the claws of the ISA.

Right, scratch that last one.

Anyway, a little bit on the picture above *points upwards*. Yeah, well, that's pretty much what you'd get when you're feeling absolutely bored and there're blank canvasses and Copic Various Inks lying around. If you're me, that is XD. Yeah, I literally went supersonically wild with my Copic re-fill inks and the colourless blender. Lots and lots and lots of colourless blender. It's almost as if I did not spend a fortune on buying all those inks XD. I was going for a picture that can not only be seen, but felt. So there're a lot of 3D elements, like the pink butterfly (it's attached to the canvas with blutack), gemstones and little roses. Not quite how I expected it to turn out, but, yeah, the results are wonderfully satisfying. Albeit the fact that the photograph didn't turn out too well, and though editing it in Photoshop returned it to close to its original colour, much of the picture's original vibrancy and details were lost. Oh well. I'll probably work on close-up shots later, but for now the computer and camera have given me a big enough headache. Haha.

If you'd like to hear me rant further on this spiffeh piece of canvas, kindly visit this pretty link~

H1N1 pandemic's getting pretty spiffeh, huh? XD. Perhaps Judgment Day's coming!!! Ya know, I always thought that natural disasters (i.e floods, tsunamis, earthquakes, hurricanes, etc.) was kinda like God's way of getting rid of lots of people in one fell swoop, kinda like how you'd do it in a strategy game. Like Age of Empires. Or that game I used to play, Populous. Those games where you're suppose to build up a whole army and kill off the enemies and stuff. Yeah. Those.

Then I think that Judgment Day's kinda like God pressing the 'Restart' button 8D.

Okies, done for now. Time to sleep. Tomorrow I shall go to school wearing a mask and pretend that I'm one of those Japanese high school delinquents that you see in anime/Japanese dramas. Or I could just pretend that I'm Reita and go around jamming on an imaginary bass XD.

Goodnight, everyone.
