Hello friends and family!

Yeah, I'm pretty much alive and kicking. First week of trials' over! It was pretty alright, I must say. I know I could've probably done a lot better if I studied harder, but unfortunately what's done's done so I can't do much about it except to focus on the next paper (Accounts! Accounts! *dies*) and propel ahead.

Didn't quite do that today though, cause I went to Jusco XD. It's the first time in two weeks since I'd last left my house. Most of the time I was too busy 'berwawasan'-ing XD. I played the DDR in Jusco! They have a new machine so I tried it out. It was pretty spiffy, but the second round my sister chose a crazy-fast track in the first dance and I phailed. Haha. I shall try it again. Soon. Muahaha.

Anyways, this post is simply to put up some long-awaited (and probably forgotten) Gakuen Convention pics! Yeah, I found the pics mouldering in my dad's Olympus. I'd totally forgotten that I'd taken that camera along that day. Haha. There aren't many piccies cause I was too busy running round doing gawd-noes-what, but...yeah. Enjoy it anyways~

Hm, so, yes. That's about all I managed to come up with.

So, what have I been doing if I haven't been wasting my life away in front of the computer like *some* people, eh? Uhm, well...haha. Nothing particularly interesting. Studying is for one. Messing around with anything and everything I can get my hands on is another. In the span of 4 days I've already made myself 6 ACEOs for the sake of using my brand new Prismacolors. I got them from the art shop near The One Academy when I was there. They didn't have a few of the colors I'd wanted, but at least I managed to get a couple of the Deco colours. The shades are love. Haha. I've also been wasting my time honing my photography $k!lLz for the sake of it. Not really. I just wanted to get the sharp focus on the object and leaving everything else blurred out. With some words of enlightenment from my self-taught-pro dad and a photography magazine he bought me a couple of weeks back, I found out that it was the aperture that played a big role in achieving that effect. Dad's spiffy Canon digital couldn't seem to switch to manual mode (or maybe we just couldn't work it), but the Olympus did the job quite well. Did a few practice shots and I'm quite happy with what turned out =D.

Putting The Internet To Good Use

Hm, in this season of feverish last-minute studying for trials, I wonder if any of you actually try studying- with some interesting twist.

No, seriously, have you guys actually tried searching textbook topics out on Wikipedia? It's a pretty fun way to read otherwise extremely dry subjects, and an excuse to sit in front of the computer. And if you really read the articles, you'll actually come by plenty of useful information. Sometimes the change of atmosphere/material will give your brain a much needed recharge. I do this quite a lot, especially for yawn-inducing subjects like History and Economy, and also for some spiffy Science topics I want to know more about.

It's also pretty handy for the English-driven individuals that find the subjects in BM life threatening. Reading the English articles on Wiki can help you out a lot. It works for me, anyway. And I should think it'll help out the Chinese/Tamil-speaking/reading individuals as well, if the articles come in those languages. You can scroll down the language list on the left-hand side of the page to see if the article comes in a language your most comfortable with. And, for the sake of sakes, you could try clicking on Bahasa Melayu and see the uncanny resemblance the article has to the textbooks XD.

So try typing in Kerajaan Bani Umaiyah or Mesopotamia, or, heck, even Sistem Ekonomi Perancangan Pusat into the Wiki search engine and go read the articles that pop out. Some way or another they'll be bound to help you boost up your exam marks.

Though, of course, close every other window/tab you have on (e.g: Facebook/Gaia/other irrelevant time-wasting space on the Internet) and make sure you give full concentration.

And here's hoping this article has made studying just a twee bit more fun to all the suffering students out there~


*by the way, Kerajaan Bani Umaiyah might just come out as Umayyad Caliphate in English. Yeah, I tried that one out. Lol.

Anyway, life has been uneventful, because nothing really happens when you're sick except for swallowing pills and sleeping and feeling shitteh, so yeah. Not sure what is the purpose of this blog post. Probably just to remind you of my pitiful existence.

Oh, did anyone read the Star paper yesterday? Yesterday as in the 25th. There was a write-up about the Creative Media Award and you could actually see my absolutely shitteh drawing. Second from right, row closest to the camera. It's already shitteh by itself; they just HAD to make it shittier by putting it in between two completely awesome drawings. Bleh. TOA called up yesterday to say I didn't get anything, so, yeah. I don't mind. At least I got consoled XD XD XD. To go for that day workshop is great enough, though I think the date clashes with SPM or something. Oh well. That's in the pretty -far- future so we'll leave it at that. Haha.

Uhm, so, yeah. Hello world. Saturday's comp was teh sh!tz. Lol. I wasn't at all happy with what I managed to spew out. I know now that 3 hours is far too short for me to come up with anything remotely satisfying. So, yeah. Live with it. But what with the short short short time and the fact that I had next to absolutely zero inspiration, I was one of the shortlisted out of the 32 they picked out that day. If I get shorlisted to win one of the prizes TOA will give me a tinkle tomorrow or Wednesday. If not, well, I still get a seat to a one-day art workshop sometime in December. Whee.

Gah, bloody Internet's lagging to much for me to do anything. Going off to go study and shit. Bleh. Farewell, everybody.

Anyways, today I went to watch Up with the seme, Bao and Rachel. As Bao said, "It's the only thing we can do to support her" or something along those lines. Anyway, the movie was a twee bit childish and I end up having to owe dear old Rachel a waffle, it was pretty fun. Haha. Thanks a bunch you guys. If I win something, I'll take you guys out for lunch =D.

After that went to twinny's house to pass some pressies seeing as I won't be able to go to her parteh this Sat. BUT I WILL TRY TO MAKE IT TWINNY. I SWEAR I'LL DO MY ABSOLUTE VERY BEST!!! Haha. She sent me a good-luck card via Raveena. I shall bring it along, together with all the good wishes that everyone else has sent me. Keep them coming, I think I'll be needing all the luck I can get ;D.

I never like the idea of camwhoring in a photobooth, but if I were given the option to re-live yesterday's antics, I'd give everything I had to do so =D.

Gah. No one one will ever know how much I'd like to go to GACC. But obviously I'm not -there- and I'm stuck -here- in front of the computer blogging about how much I'd like to be -there- eventhough it's less than 10 minutes away from -here- XP. But, no. I mustn't be so selfish. It is for the well being of mankind. Haha. But, yeah. I don't want anything unfortunate to happen. I don't want something extremely fucked up happening and it being entirely my fault. So, I'll just avoid the glares and whys and the wonderings of why I'm such a paranoid idiot and stick my foot in it. I'm okay with the looks and questions. It's not your fault because I never provided you an explanation, before or now. So, hm, yeah. I'll quit moaning about it. There's always Comic Fiesta. And GACC next year, though I have an odd feeling that I'd proabbly have to go there solo, who knows. Lol.

I'm already at the 4th page of Tatakau Monotachi! Yeah, from what I was spouting about some 10 months or so ago you'd think I'd be done with the dang song by now. I actually stopped playing it cause I thought it to be too effing hard, but then I got back to it for the heck of it and now, despite the fact that I'm going at a speed of a dead snail and that my fingers are going to split from stretching too much and that my piano teacher ain't helping me out at all, I'm doing pretty well. Haha. It'll probably take me another 3 years or so to actually reach the speed and quality of the original playing, but what the hell. Practice makes perfect, yeah? I just gotta stick to it XD.
